NEW! "Sha La La" - Album by Winnetka Bowling League - Album Review

WINNETKA BOWLING LEAGUE

An LA based indie rock band comprises singer and guitarist Matthew Koma, his brother Kris Mazzaris (drums) and Sam Beresford (keys).

This Los Angeles based Trio just released their new album "Sha La La" on May 31st, 2024 and is already getting a lot of buzz. The beginning of the year they opened for the bands Loveless and Waterparks at multiple shows in California.

These few shows alone grasped a hold of many new fans. During their performance they shared songs from this album, teasing at a soon to release album.

Well, they did not disappoint! They brought a synth/pop/indie mashup with lots of similar sounds reminiscent of Death Cab for Cutie and The Shins.

I have quickly become very fond of this album, with only listening to it but for a few days, I do find myself humming songs such at "Sha La La" and "Noones Ever Kissed You". Its so melodic and catchy, whether its because of the hints of Saxophone, Piano, Guitar and other Orchestra elements, or the truthful and touching lyrics, it truly stays with you.

Yes there are some quirky elements to this album, but it has life, you can hear it in the vocals and feel it in their music.

If you have not listened to this album yet, I HIGHLY recommend it!

Winnetka Bowling League will be on tour starting June, So give the album a listen and see them perform in a city near you!!
